Mod note on 'Trial by ants'

Folks, this is me with my mod hat on. I'm sorry to have to drop into this thread this way, having already made a comment without my mod hat on, but coverage is tricky right now and a couple of the comments in here are getting flagged to hell. I am not removing any existing comments. However, when discussing indigenous cultural practices, you absolutely need to be aware of your own cultural context, and exercise some caution to avoid falling back on racist stereotypes.
